The P&Z commission wants to look into adding wind turbine regulations to the ordinances. If anyone has adopted or is considering adopting language on regulating wind turbine and would be willing to share it I would appreciate it. Also I’d be interested to hear what the experiences, roadblocks, etc. where in the process.

We completed two ordinances for wind turbines when I worked for the City of Hutchinson. You should be able to find them on the city’s website http://www.ci.hutchinson.mn.us or give them a call. It should be a pretty good for small towns like Wells. I’ll also send you an email.

The League of Minnesota Cities has information on its website concerning wind turbines, along with a list of Cities that have recently adopted wind turbine codes. The City of Sauk Rapids currently has a wind turbine moratorium in afffect while we consider new code language. I believe that Buffalo has recently adopted code language
