City Planner-
Park Rapids
The City of Park
Rapids, located 19 miles south of
Itasca State Park, is accepting
applications for the City Planner.
This position reports directly to the
City Administrator and is responsible
for administering and enforcing the
city's planning, zoning, airport zoning,
community development, comprehensive
plan, and city building, plumbing and
rental inspection programs.
Qualified applicants must have the
ability to plan,
coordinate and direct the operations of
planning activities, be proficient in
the operation of Arc-View and GIS
programs, and have excellent
communication skills. Minimum

related field, and one to two years of
related experience. Preferred
candidates will be creative, have a
fundamental understanding of planning
and zoning principles, ability to follow
through on projects and ideas.

The City of La Crosse is seeking a
highly qualified entry level candidate
to provide professional planning support
to various City Committees and to assist
management with
initiating planning studies and reports,
neighborhood and community development
activities and ordinance writing.
The work is performed under the
direction of the Director of Planning
and Development.
The selected candidate shall have a
Masters Degree in Urban and Regional
Planning, Geography, Public
Administration or related field, with
one year of internship/experience
with exposure to planning principles,
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
certificate helpful; or any combination
of education and experience that
provides equivalent knowledge, skills
and abilities. Position requires
excellent oral and written communication
skills. Strong computer skills in
Microsoft office are
essential.
This is a professional,
exempt position with a starting
salary of $1,581.75 (75 hours
bi-weekly).
The City offers an excellent benefit

Wisconsin Retirement System pension,

dental plan, paid holidays, vacations
and sick leave. Major provisions
of the medical benefit plan include
monthly premiums of $25/single,
